Most people to Evan at some point
Evan got his start making music at a young age. Noodling on a guitar as a kid turned into emailing bedroom demos back and fourth with his best friend in high school, which blossomed into a deep passion for making music and eventually a career as an audio engineer later in life. Since moving to San Francisco in 2019 Evan has released a bunch of music on his own and as part of local rock bands, The Green Door and BIV and the Mnemonics.
He’s done sound design for live theater productions, including acting as the house sound designer for Faultline Theater. He even played a supporting role in the world premier of the musical, “Shoshana in December.” Now he splits his time between gigs as a staff engineer at the historic Hyde Street Studios and lead audio engineer at local mid-sized music venue The Golden Gate Park Bandshell.
His music blends vitriolic passion with hook laden, meandering psychedelia, to create a sonic palette that would be familiar to fans of bands like, Wilco, Spoon, or The Brian Jonestown Massacre. While his poignant and often brooding lyrics evoke the likes of Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith, or Phoebe Bridgers.
